How and where is it posible to plant a tree you want to protect and revisit years later?

Our daughter is turning one in April and we would like to plant a tree for her first birthday here in California. The thing is we currently live in an apartment and will soon be moving to where our parents live, which is Michigan. I just thought since she was born here and had her first year hear it may be something nice for her to see when she gets older plus trees are good:) Any ideas where or how we would go about planting a tree to revisit years later?

go the forest, find a stream and follow it. find a big boulder of bridge or something as a land mark.so you can find it again and plant it there. If it is different type than the surrounding trees, you should be able to find it. plant 3 of them to help that at least one will flourish.

You can try to see if the city would let you plant one in or near a park, or at a commerce center. Or where you currently live, if there is any grassy areas or something to plant a tree in honor your daughter. Just ask around and youll get farther than you think. Good Luck!!!

Visit arborday.org website, they offer a ‘celebration’ planting program.
